Pho specialized "NamNam" open. Vietnam after Thailand.
By Masaaki Yasuda Reported on November 7
The Pho specialty restaurant "NamNam Noodle Bar" opened on October 15 at the restaurant district of the Raffles City second basemenit. It was developed by Les Amis Group, which operates " Lea Amis", the first independent French cuisine restaurant in Singapore and various types of over 25 restaurants. Already NamNam is scheduled to open 2nd outlet within this year.
Les Amis Group is operating the high-class Vietnam restaurant "Annam" and its casual version is "NamNam". The restaurant name is taken from the name of an owner chef, Mr. Nam Quoc Nguyen. Les Amis Group has always named the restaurants after the owner chefs, when opening restaurants by joint investment with owner chefs, such as "sushi Aoki."
Location is the Raffles City second basement. There are crowded with small restaurants divided with the low wall and takeout specialty stores. The takeout showcase of the Vietnam sand "banh mi" is placed on the entrance side. When I went inside, there was a counter for order and payment. I was waiting at a table seat and soon was served the Pho.
11 sorts of Pho and the prices are as reasonable as S$7.90 to 13.90. It is slightly cheaper than Japanese Tonkotsu Ramen. I ate Pho Chicken of S$7.90 and it was full coriander taste and spicy. Although it is light taste, the volume was felt fewer than Tonkotsu Ramen.
Wall sticking old newspapers and its counter seat of an open kitchen are modern. Les Amis Group is absorbed in the design. even though in case of quick service restaurants.
In Singapore, "Thai Express" which offers a modern Thai food at a casual price with the interior of a cafe is developing no less than 23 stores. Although the Thai food is established, it is said that the Vietnam food comes to the next. Les Amis Group set up chain business of Vietnam food promptly. They will launch a restaurant to Ho Chi Minh next year.
